Beim Philips/Fluke PM 5139 Funktionsgenerator wird ein neues Konzept der menügesteuerten Bedienung zur Wellenform- und Frequenzsynthese eingeführt. Mit dem großen Drehknopf und Mikroprozessorunterstützung kann man sich einfach durch das Menü steuern und alle numerischen Werte einstellen.
Auf dem großen LCD-Display werden alle wichtigen Parameter dargestellt, wie Frequenz, Wellenform, Amplitude und Modulation.
Der PM 5139 deckt in 11-½ Dekaden den
  • Frequenzbereich von 0,1 mHz bis 20 MHz ab.
10 Wellenformen können gewählt werden, einschließlich der Standardfunktionen wie Sinus, Dreieck, Rechteck, als auch positive oder negative Sägezahnsignale, verschiedene Pulse und Haversine (haversed Sinus).

Sieben Modulations-Betriebsarten sind wählbar:
  • Amplitudenmodulation (AM)
  • Frequenzmodulation (FM)
  • Phase Shift Keying
  • Gate
  • Lineares Wobbeln
  • Logarithmisches Wobbeln
  • Burst

Die Version 021 beinhaltet ein HPIB Interface.

The Philips/Fluke PM 5139 Function Generator introduces a new concept of menu-driven operation to waveform generation and frequency synthesis. Microprocessor control enables simple and rapid operation and allows you to set parameters by stepping through the menu offered. One single control rotary knob allows you to make precise settings of all numeric values.
The large backlit LCD clearly displays the selected signal and gives a readout of vital parameters, such as frequency, waveform, amplitude and modulation. Any invalid parameter selections are ignored and an error message shows the incorrect settings that have been made. The PM 5139
  • frequency range covers 11½ decades, from 0.1 mHz to 20 MHz.
Ten Waveforms are selectable, including standard functions, such as sine, triangle, square, as well as positive and negative sawtooth, different pulses and haversine.

Seven Modulation Modes are available:
  1. Amplitude modulation (AM)
  2. Frequency modulation (FM)
  3. Phase shift keying
  4. Gate
  5. Linear sweep
  6. Logarithmic sweep
  7. Burst
