The EG&G 273 is a Potentiostat / Galvanostat, a standard unit used in electro - chemistry.
It is the predecessor of the 273A.
The 273A is the most widely sold potentiostat in the long history of potentiostats. In fact, it has been recognized as the benchmark against which all other potentiostats have been measured.
With its 100 V compliance and 1 A maximum current, the model 273A is capable of accurately controlling the potential in virtually any electrochemical cell. This high compliance voltage ensures accurate potential control in high-resistance cells, such as those with dilute electrolytes or non-aqueous solvents.
The 273A can be used with our high-sensitivity FRD units to perform EIS up to 100 kHz.
The 273A has a well-established reputation for reliability and ruggedness. Its unique electronic design provides the user with extremely stable current and voltage measurements.

Applications

The model 273A has long been the standard for performing corrosion measurements and general electrochemistry. It is the most referenced potentiostat in scientific literature.
With the high-current capability of the 273A, it is able to address applications in battery, fuel cell, and super capacitor areas.
For plating and electrosynthesis, the 273A is an excellent choice.
Its stable 1 A current output allows the user to accurately control his electrochemical process.

Offered here is the 273 only. The Electrometer needed for operation is not included. The display is a bit dark, but you can still read it well.

The unit was recently repaired and CALIBRATED at the german manufacturer´s representative (07-2010).
